Whether you've wondered how these events come to pass or you're interested in how to use your creative abilities in the Alpha Net- you will enjoy this Alpha Net MEET and GREET!
A couple of weeks ago, I had the privilege to sit down and interview the Alpha Net Creative Team. This team, spear-headed by Meagan Lambert, is key in making all of the net parties and gatherings happen! While the Creative Team is consistently changing and growing I was able to interview: Pastor Scott Franklin, Meagan Lambert, Rebecca Lowe, Katie Kinson, Katelin Hendricks, and Jacob Candler. They were very energetic and interviewing them was so much fun! Check it out...
1. What is the Creative Team?
Meagan: We plan net parties, both logistical and creative aspects. We are both dreamers and builders.
2. Why be a part of the Creative Team? What sets this team a part?
Katie: I love being a part of the Creative Team because God is creative and He’s given us creative abilities. Serving on the Creative Team allows me to be creative.
Katelin: I like creating the atmosphere of events through visuals and the Creative Team allows me to do that.
Katelin: I like creating the atmosphere of events through visuals and the Creative Team allows me to do that.
3. What are the requirements for being a part of the Creative Team?
Meagan: You need to be actively attending a youth cell, have cell leader recommendations, and well… be creative!
4. Pastor Scott, what is your heart for the Creative Team? Meagan?
Pastor Scott: Well, to create appealing events for the lost, but ultimately our heart in doing net parties is to bring in the lost and see connection. We want to be creative, but our ultimate target is the the people coming in, who have never heard the Gospel. If we are able to tap into the creative, we help others tap into their own creativity.
Meagan: Definitely the lost. To see, develop, and implement things that are appealing and representative of how dynamic the Kingdom can be.
5. How do you measure the success of a net party/gathering/meeting?
Pastor Scott: We definitely look at the number of people who give their hearts to the Lord, but you can’t strictly look at the number. What we’ve learned is that you can be so high-tech and there still be no sense of belongingness. We want a sense of belonging for everyone who comes to an event.
Meagan: The memorability. Being able to remember the party is key. If it’s forgettable to us then it probably is for others too.
Rebecca: How smooth the event runs. There is a sense of excitement when everything combines together and it runs smooth.
Jacob: Definitely the engagement of the people in the crowd.
6. What is your favorite part about being able to serve on the Creative Team?
Katelin: Thinking outside of the box and making things happen that seem impossible.
Katie: Seeing things come together.
Meagan: Seeing people on the team being developed.
Rebecca: Working with different personalities and learning how to work together with them. Different people coming together for one cause.
Jacob: Definitely seeing things come together.
7. If the Creative Team were a Christmas song which one would it be and why?
Rebecca: The 12 Days of Christmas!!! Because it gets really busy at the end!
8. If the Creative Team were a Starbucks drink, what kind would it be and why?
Jacob- A Chai Latte because it’s kind of spicy.
Meagan: It’s sweet too! And gentle…
Pastor Scott: I was thinking something dark chocolate… (All laugh)
9. If the Creative Team were a TV Show, which one would it be and why?
Rebecca: The Brady Bunch! Because we are all different and sometimes we disagree, but in the end we’re family. (All: AWWW)
Katie: LOST because you never know what’s going to happen!
Jacob: Umm… Happy Days… I don’t know why though.
10. What is the biggest thing you’ve learned by serving on the Creative Team?
Rebecca: Leadership is not just about success, but it is also about learning from your failures.
Katie: Teamwork is key!
11. Describe the Creative Team in one word.
Jacob: Challenging.
Rebecca: Eccentric.
Pastor Scott: Stretching.
Meagan: Interactive.
Katie: Imaginative. Inspired.
12. What inspires you to be creative?
Pastor Scott: Laughter.
Meagan: Music. Definitely good music inspires me.
Pastor Scott: And Disney World… (All laugh)
Katie: I want to win lost souls for Jesus. Anything innovative that I can do to bring people to Christ is worth taking the time to plan creative events.
13. When you look to the future in regards of the Creative Team what do you see?
Pastor Scott: I see an open box. Limitless.
