Love is in the air!

Happy Valentine's Day!! Just in case you were wondering if there's anybody who loves you - we do!! And more importantly, Jesus does!

For many people this can be a depressing day. Maybe some of you are single and disappointed that you don't have someone special to give you a valentine. Others of you may have a valentine but are comparing them to others and they just don't measure up.

Let me fill you in on a little secret: nobody will ever completely satisfy you! Those deep places in you where no one else understands are meant from God. Let Him fill you up completely. I promise, marriage and companionship are not the answers to all of your problems. Even then you still have to rely on God for complete fulfillment. Don't believe me? Go find a happily married Christian couple and ask them the secret to joy in their marriage. It comes from God alone, not each other. If you are lonely and hurting today, find comfort in the arms of the Savior. His are the best ones to run into. And if you're separated from God, come home. Today can be the most beautiful love story of your life.

Here's some encouragement for you: this isn't coming from a married person. I don't even have a boyfriend. But I am so satisfied in Jesus. I am 24 years old and loving that I just get to spend time with Jesus. I can tell you with full confidence that when you wait on the Lord for His timing, you can have so much joy and peace in the midst of that waiting.

Can I challenge you today? Get beyond yourself. Go find someone who doesn't have the hope of Christ and share with them the greatest love story ever written. Give that classmate who is having a hard time a hug and let them know that they are loved. When you reach out to others, your own loneliness fades away. And who knows, maybe this will be your best Valentine's Day yet.
