When I was in fourth grade, I was faced with a teacher who was an evolutionist. She had us watch videos on evolution, and she put questions on the tests about evolution. I walked up to her desk after class one day, and I explained to her that I understood that she believed in evolution but that was not what I believed as a Christian.
Before that, I had never been faced with a situation like that and I had to deal with it myself. Sure I talked to my parents about the situation, but I was the one who had to talk to my teacher. I had to depend on my own faith, not my parents.
If you depend on your parent's faith you will not understand how to deal with situations like the one I faced in fourth grade. Also when you die, God will ask you if you believed in the death and resurrection of his Son, not if your parents believed it.
Are you a Christian or do you lean on the faith of your parents?
